Jessica was the official concubine of Duke Leto Atreides I, and the mother of his son, Emperor Paul Atreides, and daughter, Alia Atreides. She was also a Reverend Mother of the Bene Gesserit Sisterhood.

Jessica was raised among the Bene Gesserit Sisterhood and as such her demeanor is one of grace and refinement. But she has a rebellious streak in her that caused her to defy a generations long breeding program to give the man she loved a son rather than the daughter she was told to bear.
She is a far stronger woman than most take her for, not only emotionally but also in power. Her ability to use The Voice and other teachings of the Bene Gesserit is enough to make her dangerous in the eyes of her enemies. She is considered a serious threat with good reason. Jessica is unafraid to use her power to protect those she loves.
